Class Description
You asked and we listened! These 3-D spinners make great gifts and literally add another dimension to your artwork. This is a great chance to practice those skills you've learned! Once again, everything will be provided for you WITH THE EXCEPTION OF YOUR GLASS AND PATTERN. This class is for one 6-sided spinner.
This course consists of three sessions of 2 hours each. Depending on how quickly you work and how complex your pattern is, you may need to come in outside of class during our (free to students) open studio time, or do a little work at home.
You will need to bring a PATTERN with you. There are MANY found on Etsy.com. Our favorite is https://www.etsy.com/shop/houseofbrokenglass. You will also need to bring the GLASS for your project. We do have some patterns on hand if you cannot find one that you like. Designs pictured: Carla drew the sunflower and the dancer is one from House of Broken Glass (link above). Best to keep patterns to 25 total pieces or less for this project time-frame.
We will provide all other materials/tools.
In this workshop, we will focus on creating several small panels, decorating them with fun wire work and decorative soldering techniques, and then assembling (the truly challenging part) into a dazzling spinner! We will have assembly instructions to send home with students, for support in creating more spinners on your own.
